Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is the sixth installment in the Call of Duty series but was not officially labeled as Call of Duty 6. While Infinity Ward used the working title "Call of Duty 6" during development, the company clarified that referring to the game as Call of Duty 6 would be inaccurate. The game was released in 2009 and became highly acclaimed for its multiplayer and gripping single-player campaign.
